Chiropractic to me is balancing the body. I look for symmetry, motion and muscle balance. If the body is off in any of these, I use a variety of techniques to restore the body. With every session, I use muscle work, stretching, and adjusting. Every person is different and requires multiple approaches to restore movement. Styles used are Diversified manual adjusting, Activator instrument adjusting, Thompson Drop Table adjusting, manual muscle massage, trigger point therapy, and active release technique.
I use acupuncture often in my practice to help with challenging cases. It is a nice adjunct to chiropractic. With the use of acupuncture needles, we place them in appropriate positions in the body to help restore the healing energy to the areas that need help.
Nutrition consults are mainly done by taking a health history, completing questionairres and creating goals for you. From there, we can work towards those goals with nutritional supplements, lifestyle changes and stress management.
Dynamic Body Balancing: Craniosacral Therapy and Myofascial Unwinding
As a chiropractor, I balance the body by addressing the musculoskeletal regions, which influences the nervous system. Dynamic Body Balancing incorporates these on a deeper level. Craniosacral Therapy works by lightly laying hands on the cranium (head). I assess all of the cranial bones and correct imbalances through movement and intent. The cranium is connected to the sacrum via the spine, which houses the spinal cord, membranes and Cerebral Spinal Fluid. To maintain proper health, the CSF moves rhythmically between the cranium and sacrum. Any imbalance can create disease and/or dysfunction of the body. Working on the entire spine and pelvis is also crucial to remove interferences within this chain.
My training with Dr. Carol Phillips and Carol Gray has allowed me to work the body head to toe to restore function and create balance. Some techniques also include Myofascial Unwinding which is using movement to unwind the fascia of the body. Fascia is the covering of all internal parts that interweaves between muscle, bone, tendons, and ligaments. Any injury to the body creates altered tension on the connections. I correct that tension with muscle work, adjusting and unwinding.
Melissa Erickson provides a unique experience with each of her massage sessions. She has a vast array of training from traditional massage, craniosacral therapy, myofascial unwinding, emotional/energy work, abdominal massage, pregnancy massage, reflexology, and Raindrop massage. She uses hot stones/hot packs to the clients liking. Essential oils are also used during her sessions. Come and experience!
Jill Petron provides customized sessions according to your needs. She provides great attention to detail and can locate the problem areas like no other.
Jill also has training in Thai Yoga Bodywork. This is a full body session done on the floor. The techniques used range from gentle acupressure, assisted stretching and twisting, and muscle softening techniques. It promotes gentle relaxation, calmness and balance.
